I’ve been thinking about comic crossovers, and if I ever got the chance to do one, I know exactly who I’d want to collaborate with: Skottie Young of I Hate Fairyland.
I think our styles would mesh really well. My work isn’t realistic, it’s VERY cartoony, and so is Skottie’s. From X-Babies to I Hate Fairyland, his art has always had an exaggerated, expressive style that reminds me of classic cartoons, but with an incredible modern twist.
He’s been one of my favorite artists for years. I was following his work even before he was established in the comics industry. Watching his artistic journey has been inspiring, and he’s remained a huge influence on my own work.
Getting a chance to collaborate with Skottie Young would be a dream come true.
