As a kid, one of my favorite Transformers teams that didn’t combine were the Insecticons. They all had such a unique look compared to all the other Decepticons. No vehicle modes here, just cool, simple insects.
One of the things I really liked was how, in the beginning, there were only three of them, and then they learned how to duplicate themselves, and suddenly there were thousands. Even if it was only for a little bit, I thought that was such a cool feature.
I also liked their iconic voices. They were very unique, just like Soundwave and Optimus. when you hear their voices, you know who’s talking. No question.
The saddest part was when they got turned into the Sweeps in The Transformers: The Movie. I never did like the idea of losing the Insecticons. They were so iconic.
