Kids who grew up in the ’80s had some incredible movies. Sure, not all of them have aged well, but some absolutely still hold up.
To this day, I love Gremlins. I think it hold up surprisingly well. Even Gremlins 2 isn’t bad, which is kind of shocking because movie sequels so often miss the mark.
A lot of sequels feel like they were rushed out just to cash in on the success of the original. They lose that one spark that made the first movie so special.
Take the Jaws sequels, for example. None of them came close to the original, but Jaws 3 falls squarely into the “it’s so bad, it’s good” category for me. I actually enjoy it more than Jaws 2, or Jaws Revenge.
