I miss Saturday morning cartoons and the feeling of plopping down in front of the TV, with a bowl of cereal, to watch some of the best cartoons ever created. They taught lessons, morals, and even about life. Characters would die from time to time, even if it wasn’t permanent, and taught us that grieving is a healthy part of life. They showed us that we should treat everyone with respect and dignity, and never take advantage of a person’s good nature. Another valuable lesson was what to do in moments when most people would panic.
I took a lot of these lessons to heart. Sure, my parents taught me many important things, but the cartoons did too. Looking back, they really showed that they weren’t just toy commercials like so many people say nowadays. They were also a place where you could learn valuable life lessons. That’s why we have such fond memories of shows like He-Man, G.I. Joe, Care Bears, and so many other great cartoons.
